Welcome [top] |
| Dear Colleagues:
If you are a teacher of German in the state of North Carolina,
you are cordially invited to attend our next Lehrerkonferenz,
"Applying Information Technology in the German Classroom."
The event will take place September 13-14 at Davidson College
and will be hosted by Burkhard Henke.
All AATG members and prospective members are welcome to attend.
The conference provides an excellent opportunity to meet with
a cross-section of colleagues from the state of North Carolina
to discuss topics of mutual interest. For non-members, it is a
chance to meet with fellow professionals and weigh the benefits
of membership. Aside from business items and presentations, including
one by Jürgen Weigmann of the Goethe Institut Atlanta, the
agenda will feature a hands-on workshop on Saturday (see Schedule).
During that time we will introduce you to internet technology
and produce some sample web pages for the classroom. |
Workshop Preparation [top] |
| In order to get the most
out of the workshop, we encourage you to bring digitized materials
(text in Word or HTML format, images, audio, video), and to give
some thought ahead of time to the web site you would like to create.
If you want to upload your newly created web files to server space
at your home institution, you will also need to bring the following
information with you:
ftp host:
host directory:
login:
password:
URL:
Are FrontPage extensions loaded on the server?
Please ask your IT staff for help. If you do
not have server space already, or cannot use ftp to upload and
download files (ask your IT staff), or have no idea what "ftp"
means, don't worry. We will provide temporary practice space on
one of the Davidson servers for the duration of the workshop. |
