from points east:
take I-40 to Winston-Salem exit onto Highway 421 North (towards Wilkesboro)
stay on 421 (don't turn at university) through Boone's Altstadt in town,
turn left on Depot Street, which becomes Bodenheimer Drive at Rivers Street
follow Bodenheimer up steep hill past student apartments to Broyhill Conference
Center
from Charlotte and Hickory area:
follow 321 North (towards Lenoir), pass through Blowing Rock at Daniel
Boone Inn in town, 321 turns left-- stay on this and proceed through town
in town, turn left on Depot Street, which becomes Bodenheimer Drive at
Rivers Street follow Bodenheimer up steep hill past student apartments
to Broyhill Conference Center
from Asheville and points west:
take I-40 past Old Fort exit onto Highway 221 North near Marion follow
221 North to Linville in Linville, turn left onto Highway 105 North and
follow to Boone in Boone, turn left onto 321 North at Convocation Center
(new building)/entrance to university, turn left on Rivers Street.
continue ca. .5 miles past all university buildings, then turn left on
Bodenheimer Drive, follow the steep hill to Broyhill Conference Center
Broyhill Conference Center is located on
a hill ABOVE the university.
Parking is free and readily available-- no permit required.
App. driving times:
from Asheville, Charlotte, Winston-Salem,
High Point, Greensboro: ca. 2 hours
from Hickory: 1 hour
from Durham and Raleigh: 3 to 3 1/2 hours
from Wilmington: 5 to 5 1/2 hours (call if you want to come Friday evening;
we can
